Favorite Links

A few Web sites that we recommend for their content and/or links to other sites.
Part of the fun of surfing the World Wide Web is finding new sites to amaze, amuse, and enlighten you. Even more satisfying is finding a new site that includes links to other new sites (which, in turn, sport their own links to even more sites, and so on and so on . . .) This site is no different. (Well, it's different, just maybe not in the way that we mean it here.) So welcome to our page of Favorite Links--a nice, lucky 13 of them. (And as a Christian, you have no reason to fear the number 13 . . . or any other number for that matter--not even 666. 'Cause, if God be for us, who can be against us . . .?) Why only 13 sites, you may wonder? (Well, truth be told, we're really not very technically inclined. The template the hosts provided for this page had only 13 links, and we haven't yet been able to figure out how to add any more. So for now, 13 it is.)

Following each link, we tell you a little about each site so that you don't go someplace where you're not willing to at least consider what's posted. You may not agree with everything that you find on these sites (and we don't necessarily agree with everything ourselves--far from it in some places), but if you check them out with an open mind and a discerning spirit, you're likely to learn something. So go ahead. Check 'em out. (But remember to use your Back button to return here after you're through so that you can check out the others--and maybe go visit the Ex-CES Followers Forums for some more links.)

Warning: Sometimes pages go down because of glitches or updates. If you click a link and get an error message, try again later. If you still get an error after several attempts over several days, let us know. Sometimes addresses change rapidly on the Web. An address that leads to an edifying site one day may the next lead to one you'd rather not have the Lord peeking over your shoulder at while you frantically click your Back button to escape. (And if that happens to you with one of these links, please send us an e-mail at once so that we can remove the link and replace it with something more edifying.) Thanks!

Armageddon Books If you're interested in eschatology--end-times prophecy--this is one of the best sites to visit. Armegeddon Books offers the widest range of prophecy titles we've yet to find. Not only will you find books about the standard (and we believe unscriptural) pre-trib rapture, but also harder to find titles about the (more biblical) post-trib and prewrath rapture positions--plus relatively scarce books on preterism, titles debunking end-times fanaticism (from scriptural expositions), and even now-hard-to-find titles on the Historicist end-times position (once the standard Protestant position before the takeover by futurist dispensationalism in the late 19th century). You'll also find scads of links to other prophecy and end-times Web sites. And you can sign up for a free monthly e-mail newsletter. A great site!

The Path of Christ The Path of Christ Web site (formerly the Way of Christ) is the site to visit if you're a former (or even a current) follower of the Way International looking for healing or just some good, loving fellowship. It's a really attractive site with a wealth of useful information, run by believer-friendly folks. Among its attractions are more than 30 links to various ex-Way and related believer Web sites (including those of B.G. Leonard and Peter Wade, names you may remember if you were ever in the Way--and even ours!); an open discussion area about the Way (and other topics); online Bible research tools (including some 14 Bible versions, concordances, and Greek and Hebrew word searches); Bible teachings on featured topics (comparing various viewpoints on that subject); book reviews; a chat room (currently under construction); and many other features--even recipes, jokes, and poems and essays by believers. The site also links to the Ex-Cultworld site (formerly Ex-Wayworld), which includes a Momentus page providing links to various testimonies, discussions and transcripts about that spiritual deception. The Path of Christ Web site is definitely a great spot to surf if you're looking for a positive ex-Way experience--even if you were never in the Way International! Drop on by and say "Bless you!"

Messiah 7's Way International site John Juedes' Web site about The Way International is another must-see for ex-Wayfers (at least for those who've recognized that much was wrong in the Way, including much of its doctrine, and that it truly was--and still very much is--a cult). If you're still a Way apologist, you probably won't like this site much, as Dr. Juedes pulls no punches in exposing flaws in much of the Way's theology and nearly all its practices. Juedes is a contributor to the Personal Freedom Outreach Quarterly Journal, the Watchman Expositor, and the Christian Research Journal, among other publications. (And if those titles make your blood boil, well, better avoid this site--unless you want to know a lot more truth than you may have before.) He's also a Lutheran minister and a staunch defender of the Trinity (rightfully pointing out numerous flaws in V.P. Weirwille's sloppily researched Jesus Christ is Not God book), so expect not to agree with at least some of what you find there if you're a Unitarian. But if you check it out with an open mind, you'll learn a lot. (We did.) You'll also find on his Recovery from the Way and Momentus pages several testimonies about Momentus and what goes on behind the closed doors of the training (and afterward) and, on his Splinter Groups and Letters pages, some eye openers about CES if you're still inclined to defend everything or most about it, too. Plus Dr. Juedes regularly posts breaking info about recent goings on in the Way so that we can keep up on what's happening, good or bad (and it's mostly bad, we're afraid), in our "former denomination" (before CES became our former denomination, that is). We heartily recommend this site for the strong-hearted--but, hey, that's why the link's here.

Foundation for the Translation of Biblical Studies, Inc. Okay, you wanted another link to a really positive Web experience--now you've got it. This is ex-Wayfer Richie Temple's Web site and home of his Unity of the Spirit free quarterly newsletter (which is posted on the site). A lot of very edifying articles and biblical research conducted by Richie and other contributers--totally devoid of lingering Way (and CES) doctrines, such as dispensationalism, the pre-trib rapture, and similar unbiblical traditions of man. We were amazed when we first found this site (and read some of Richie's postings on the old CES Dialogue Board) how closely our own studies and discoveries of what the Word really teaches parallel what we found here (and in its newsletter). Prepare to be uplifted--and challenged--by what you find here.

Restoration Fellowship (Anthony Buzzard) If you've read anything that Sir Anthony Buzzard's written or ever heard him teach, you need no further encouragement to visit this site. Restoration Fellowship is dedicated to restoring the truth about the Gospel of the Kingdom, as taught by both Jesus and Paul, that's been obscured by the subsequent adoption of Greek philosophy since the first century to replace the original Hebrew thought processes of scripture. Some captivating articles on the truths of the post-trib rapture, the true identity of Israel, and the Unitarian nature of God. His book on the Trinity (The Doctrine of the Trinity: Christianity's Self-Inflicted Wound) is still the best scholarly treatment of the subject no matter which side of the issue you believe. Another great place to stretch your mind and your theology. Some links to similar sites, too.

Associates for Scriptural Knowledge (ASK) Associates for Scriptural Knowledge (ASK) is the ministry of the late Dr. Ernest Martin. He was former Worldwide Church of God, but moved far from that ministry's teachings in many areas. (He did still hold to WWCG's view of the Godhead in suggesting that all believers will eventually be part of the Godhead, just as God and Jesus are, and was very antitrinitarian.) What Dr. Martin was very good at was Biblical chronology and history. His book about the Star of Bethlehem is the accepted authority on the subject among most scholars. He also wrote an excellent book showing from scripture that tithing isn't for the Christian. And unlike many former WWCG teachers, he recognized that Christians aren't bound to all the OT laws. His latest book was about the true location of Jerusalem's temples. Some fascinating scriptural and historical insights if you can overlook some of the peculiarities.

Raiders News Update Thomas Horn's Raiders News Update Web site is a treasure trove of breaking news of interest to Christians, free stuff to download, articles on various biblical topics (including the demonic origins of UFOs), links to online books, and lots of other stuff from a Christian slant. Until recently, he published a free e-mail newsletter, although he's had to temporarily suspend that while he tackles another project (but you can still sign up for future issues after it returns). For a while, he was even giving away free copies of his latest book (identifying the deities of mythology as fallen angels) merely for a SASE. One caveat: He's a pretribber. But you can ignore that for the good stuff.

Ralph Woodrow Evangelistic Association Remember the book Babylon Mystery Religion? Yes, this is the Web site of that Ralph Woodrow. But don't look for that book here; after further research, he decided much of the sources he used weren't reliable and has replaced it with a new, more accurate book, The Babylon Connection, that repudiates much of the old one. He also offers a free newsletter and a load of excellent books at very reasonable prices that he sells as a package for an even more greatly reduced price. (Unless you're almost totally penniless, you can't miss with these!) Woodrow takes on a lot of the fanciful end-times speculation of current futurist dispensationalists in his books, refuting them from a solid scriptural base. (He's more of an Historicist in his eschatological outlook.) Refreshing takes on the rapture, Daniel's 70th week, and other sacred cows. Another highly recommended site.

Messengers of Truth If you're interested in exploring the Hebraic roots of Christianity, this Messianic Jewish (Christian) site offers a number of articles that you can read online and a fair amount of books that you can purchase on the subject, including some titles exclusive to this ministry. Topics include the feasts of the Lord, how much of the OT law Christians should follow, and how to better understand Christianity through a knowledge of the shadows and types of the OT. The site also offers a message board where you can dialogue with other believers about the Jewish flavor of Christianity (how we first ran across the site). As can be the case with some Messianic Jewish sites, this one may lean a slight bit too much toward the law and Jewish culture than we think are necessary for the church--although not nearly as heavily as some we've seen--but still it offers some great Hebraic knowledge and insights that can enrich all our walks. It's a worthwhile site to visit.

Ministry of Creation Science Evangelism The Ministry for Creation Science Evangelism is the Web site of Creationist Kent Hovind (also known affectionately as Dr. Dino). Mr. Hovind travels the country providing informative--and often very amusing--talks on Creationism. His special focus on how the dinosaurs fit into Creationism earned him his nickname. The site offers news and insight into the state of Creationism today, as well as book and tape resources (including an excellent set of videos of Mr. Hovind's lectures). The site also provides links to other Creationist Web sites, including those of the Institute for Creation Research and Answers In Genesis (both recommended stops for the subject). We think that you'll especially enjoy Mr. Hovind's sense of humor and how he effectively uses it to highlight the very important topic of Creationism--after all, the Creation record in Genesis is the foundation of the entire Bible. If Creation doesn't stand, neither does anything else. (And as you'll see on this site and the others that it links to, Creation does indeed stand the test of truth.)

The Last Trumpet The Last Trumpet Web site is one of the best post-trib sites on the Web (at least that we've found so far). The site offers a wide range of articles, including an entire commentary on the book of Revelation, quotes from the "Church Fathers" (showing that none of them expected a pretrib rapture, despite the claims of modern dispensationalists), and even an article by the pre-eminent researcher into the roots of the pretrib falacy, Dave MacPherson. The only really disappointing note that we found was the tendency to accept the (we believe) erroneous concept of a future 70 weeks of Daniel (which we think a plain, careful reading of scripture shows is actually past, having covered the three and a half years of Christ's ministry and the next three and a half years until the Gospel was taken to the Gentiles). But aside from this bit of error, the site is a must-read! (But beware: If you're a pretribber and your mind's not totally closed to anything else, be prepared to have your beliefs seriously challenged.)

Inter-City Christian Discernment Ministries We know of a lot of discernment ministry Web sites that we could recommend, but we've decided to reserve this link for Rev. Robert Liichow's Inter-City Christian Discernment Ministries. This Web site is a bulwark against much of the undiscerning Charismatic extremism that's infected the church over the last few decades, from the ridiculous Toronto "Blessing" (so-called "holy" laughter) and the Pensacola "revival" to the latest silly (and sad in that people believe them) incidents of "gold dust" (actually plastic flakes) and supposed "angel feathers" raining down on believers in certain "blessed" churches (often those adopting the most far out of these practices). The site also takes on the popular (but highly unscriptural in many of their doctrines) Word-Faith teachers such as Hagin, Copeland, Jakes, and Hinn, often demonstrating their shortcomings as ministers of the gospel with their own words. Rev. Liichow knows what he's talking about, having come out of the extremist Charismatic/Word-Faith movement himself, along with his wife, not that many years ago. Lots of pertinent (and often amusing) sound bites on various pages (so if you're surfing in a public area, you want to turn your speakers down or off). The site even posted at one point a doctoral thesis on E.W. Kenyon and the roots of his teachings, which as many now are aware is where the Way got many of its doctrines (although we couldn't find the paper listed last time we checked the site). Lots to read here, so take your time and be prepared for some eye-opening info (and watch out for it creeping into your own fellowships).

Ex-CES Followers Message Board Forums Until we add more links to this page, you can click this link to get over to the Ex-CES Followers message board, where we're posting additional links in the appropriate forums there. We've started out in the Web Sites topic in the Recommended forum with a few more sites with some connections to the Way and CES. We've also added some links to various Discernment ministries in the Discernment forum and to Creationist Web sites in the Creationism forum, plus a few links to New Covenant theology sites in the Dispensationalism forum. Keep checking these forums for more links, as well as in other forums, such as Eschatology, Hebraic Roots, UFOs, etc., and others! (And follow the links on those sites to other sites . . . but remember to come back here often to check for new links!) God bless you in your search for the truth of God's Word! (Note: Use this link to the forums only if you plan only to look for other links. If you want to join the discussions yourself, please first visit the Forums page of this site, where you can read the rules for participating in the forums. Thanks!)
